Camera CCD sensor cooling time
Dave Trewren   27/3/2011
The following section details some results and conclusions from the project
The camera CCD sensor cooling time is relatively rapid due to the direct cooling mechanism.  With the camera switched on the CCD sensor cools from +20 degrees to -2.0 degrees in around eight minutes.
Image histograms at various temperatures
This series of histograms shows the camera output at temperatures from 23 degrees to -2.0 degrees.  The histograms were derived from dark 10 minute (600s) images taken at 800ASA.  At each point the temperature was controlled by the built in thermostat and allowed to settle for 2 minutes prior to each test exposure. Standard deviation values (SD) were obtained from ImagesPlus 4.
